Projects & Initiatives
The last two years have revealed the strength and determination of South East Clarendon. We have worked together to support several families in need and to overcome unprecedented challenges brought on by the pandemic.

Here are some of the projects and initiatives we have implemented and continue to establish within the constituency.
Youth and Education
Education is one of the strongest tools in eradicating poverty and is a vital factor for the full and effective participation of youth in society. Through youth and education projects, we continue to provide back-to-school grants, book vouchers, tuition assistance, tablets, free summer school sessions and marathon classes, and other back-to-school assistance to constituents, as well as offer internship programmes.

Community Outreach and Engagement
Community outreach contributes to the growth of society and raises awareness of the issues that affect our neighbourhood. We continue work to continuously improve the constituency of South East Clarendon and have created activities that will help to develop the residents holistically through social and health fairs, sports rallies and creative competitions, back-to-school retreats, beautification and development projects such as the erection of community signs, de-bushing of communities, and the establishment of free Wi-Fi spots in Mineral Heights and Lionel Town through the Universal Service Fund.

Water and Electricity
Water and electricity are essential resources which all residents should be able to access. My team and I continue to advance projects to bring water and electricity access to all of South East Clarendon.
Some major water and electricity projects we have completed include:
-
The Salt River Water Project
-
The Rocky Point Fishing Village Solar Street Light Project

Housing and Building Assistance
Funding for housing and building assistance continues across South East Clarendon for some of our residents who live in areas that are most susceptible to natural disasters. Through our housing and building assistance programme, which is supported by the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, we have so far provided millions in support to residents and learning institutions which benefit our children.

Business Development
Small businesses play an important role in supporting and building our communities. In our strive to foster economic growth and job creation in South East Clarendon, we continue to provide assistance to small businesses through Social Development Commission and Heart NSTA Trust training in financial management, customer service, and marketing as well as providing support through business grants.

Assisting Farmers and Fishers
In order to promote the advancement of the communities of South East Clarendon, we continue to promote Agriculture and Fisheries as viable industries. Through the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, we continue to provide support to the farmers and fishers in the constituency through our Chicken and Feed Programme - 'One Chick at a Time', our Animal Feed Programme, Fish Pot Wire Assistance, Fertiliser Distribution Programme, the donation of tanks and irrigation kits, as well as providing further support through relevant and effective training.

Sports Development
Sports initiatives are an effective way to bring the community together and engage our youth in a fun, safe, energetic, and positive environment that promotes unity. My team and I continue to engage residents, particularly youth, through sports rallies and competitions.
